BRAINSTORMERS AND GUERRILLA GIRLS "GET MAD"
OUTSIDE THE BRONX MUSEUM MAY 17, 2008
ON THE STREETS OF CHELSEA SEPTEMBER 13, 2008
A STREET ACTION FOR FEMINISTS & ANTI-FEMINISTS! EVERYONE WELCOME!
Think galleries show too few women artists? Help us send them a message.
Fill out postcards -- mad lib style -- to the most discriminating NYC galleries.
Many still show 80% men or more.
Or...think museums have had too many feminist shows? Join our picket line.
We've created a new protest group called MAN (Male Art Now.) MAN has had it
with so many 100% women feminist museum exhibitions….what do they have to do
with today’s gallery scene OR the art market? MAN demands that museums go
back to business as usual, showing tons of male artists.

The Brainstormers are a collective who, through public performance, exhibition, publications and
video, have rekindled a discussion of gross gender inequities in the contemporary art world.
The Guerrilla Girls have for over 20 years used provocative text, visuals, and humor in the service
of feminism and social change -- in the visual arts and beyond. With more than 100 posters,
numerous books, billboards and lots of other actions under their belts, they also create large-scale
installations for international exhibitions like the Venice Biennale.
