We decided to satirize Bush's color-coded terror alert system by turning it into a chart listing some of the terrible things his administration is doing to erode women's rights. We originally did this poster to accompany an article by Richard Goldstein in the Village Voice called "Bush's War on Women." The idea of appropriating the terror alert system came out of a workshop we did with students at Case Western Reserve University. We've done many of these political art workshops and are thrilled by the talent and dedication out there.

The Guerrilla Girls announce “The Schwarzenegger Shield”

Arnold Schwarzenegger, Hollywood tough guy, Governor of California??? With a professed sexual predator heading this great state, what's a girl to do?

Well, the Guerrilla Girls have a plan:

We think all women in California should protect themselves by carrying our new, specially designed, “Schwarzenegger Shield.” This anti-Arnold armor can be used to block any unwanted advances, and insure that the new governor won't be able to grope, grab or sexually harass any of us, in any way.

Don't go to the governor's office or mansion without it!
