IT'S NOT DEMOCRACY WITHOUT FEMINISM
For 40 years, the Guerrilla Girls have been fighting injustices in the art world with provocative actions and sharp-tongued humor. They draw attention to the lack of representation of women and people of color in art museums, criticize economic power relations in cultural and educational institutions, and intervened in the US election campaign with spectacular billboards. Reason enough to honor the Guerrilla Girls this year with the MO_Kunstpreis, which is awarded annually by the Friends of Museum Ostwall e.V. to artists whose art is connected to the Fluxus focus of the museum's collection.
